During the summer, there is a lot of time to fill for your kids. From rainy days when you can’t go outside to sunny days when you want to protect sensitive skin from the UV rays and the heat, finding things to do inside can be difficult. Luckily, there are some options that will make summertime just as much fun indoors as it is outdoors:

 

Simon Says

 

A traditional game of Simon Says is an easy way to keep your children entertained just about anywhere. The concept is simple: If you say “Simon says” and a command or instructions, then your kids must do the command. But if you simply say the command, they aren’t supposed to do it. You can use this one to your advantage while still keeping it fun. It is also a great game to play with a lot of kids.

 

Ice Tower Archaeologist

 

If you have some time to plan ahead, this is a great game for anyone. You simply take a bunch of water safe toys and freeze them in water. In order to get the best results, put a toy or two in and just cover them with water. Once they are frozen, repeat until you’ve filled up a pitcher. When your kids get bored, use a warm towel to remove the tower and let your kids use whatever safe tools they can find to get the items out.

 

Bowling

 

Take a few empty water bottles and a ball of yarn, and you have an awesome bowling set up. You’ll be able to personalize the difficulty of the game for each child, and they will have a lot of fun knocking them over and picking them back up again.

 

Paper Bag Skits

 

Those plain brown paper bags you have sitting around the house can actually provide hours of entertainment. Decorate them with glue, paper, markers, glitter, stickers, or just about anything you have sitting around. Then, your children can put on skits that will entertain both you and them. It will allow them to spread their creativity wings.

 

Tic-Tac-Toe

 

Of course we’ve all played tic-tac-toe with a piece of paper and pen. However, a wooden tic-tac-toe with marbles gives a new feeling to the game. The 3D aspect allows your children to see the game differently so that they can plan and plot their movements.

 

 

 

No matter what, keeping your kids busy during the summer is an absolute must. Get a little creative and start playing!
