A stay in the hospital is never fun, but it can be made more or less comfortable by nurses. When my mother was in the hospital, I wanted to show my appreciation for the nurses who were taking care of her. There were too many nurses to buy gifts for so I wrote quotes about nurses-almost like “fortunes”-down on pieces of paper and put them in a secret box so that each nurse could take one and know that someone thought of them.
